In the world of high school sports, few players possess the all-around athleticism, leadership, and discipline that 2026 Middle Linebacker Myren Johnson brings to the field every game. Myren’s prowess on the gridiron has solidified him as an invaluable part of the Fountain Fort Carson team, where he leads the defense with a unique blend of skill and work ethic. His impressive stats, including leading his team in tackles and snagging four interceptions, tell only part of his story. What makes him truly extraordinary goes beyond the numbers.

From a young age, Myren has drawn inspiration from Coach Paul Manongdo, a father figure and mentor who’s been by his side throughout his football journey. Coach Manongdo’s influence has been transformative; he taught Myren not only to play the game but to understand it on a deeper level. Coach Manongdo instilled in Myren the importance of watching film, discussing offensive strategies, and making sure he grasped each concept fully. This mentorship has been foundational, giving Myren a unique edge in reading plays and anticipating what offenses are trying to achieve. Coach Manongdo’s support extends beyond football, as he remains a steady presence in Myren’s life, cheering him on in all his pursuits.

As a linebacker, Myren is a disruptive force on the field, reading plays with precision and stepping up to make big stops when his team needs him most. But his versatility shines brightest in his ability to adapt; Myren can seamlessly transition between positions, playing running back, slot back, receiver, and even handling punting duties. His adaptability highlights his deep understanding of the game, athletic range, and dedication to being the ultimate team player.

One of Myren’s biggest supporters and trainers is Strength Coach Ben Holland. The two share an unbreakable bond built on trust and hard work. Myren is always the first one in the weight room, pushing himself and seeking that extra edge. Coach Holland knows how to challenge Myren, pushing him past his limits every day, and Myren thrives on this intensity. His hard work in the weight room translates directly to the field, with his strength and agility giving him a clear advantage over opponents.

Off the field, Myren is as impressive as he is on it. Known for his academic excellence, he brings the same level of commitment and focus to his studies as he does to his training. His dedication to his education underscores his character and ambition. In every aspect of his life, Myren strives for greatness, embodying the kind of well-rounded student-athlete schools and teams dream of.

Beyond football, Myren is an accomplished competitor in skeet and trap shooting. Competing with the St. Mary’s Competitive Shooting Team, he’s achieved exceptional results in state competitions, showcasing his ability to excel across disciplines. His standout accomplishments at the SCTP State Shoot at Golden Gun & Kiowa Creek include being a State Champion at the JV level in both Sporting Clays and Trap. He and his JV squad earned the prestigious honor of State Runners-Up in Skeet, with Myren personally securing the top spots in Skeet, Sporting Clays, and Trap.

These accolades are a testament to Myren’s exceptional focus, precision, and competitive spirit. As both an individual shooter and a team member, he consistently raises the bar for himself and those around him, embodying the discipline and determination required for success.

Myren Johnson is more than just a middle linebacker for Fountain Fort Carson; he’s a leader, a multi-sport athlete, and a driven student who inspires everyone around him. With the unwavering support of Coach Manongdo and the guidance of Coach Holland, Myren has a team that believes in him as much as he believes in himself. Whether he’s making a game-changing interception, hitting the weight room at dawn, excelling in the classroom, or competing at the state level in shooting sports, Myren shows what can be achieved with a relentless work ethic and a passion for improvement. This young man is bound for big things, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for him.
